SINOPEC Zhongyuan Petrochemical Corp. Ltd is located in Puyang National Economic‑Technological Development Zone. Situated in the western urban area of Puyang city, the zone is one of the nine national‑level economic‑technological development zones in Henan Province. It covers a total administrative area of 232 square kilometres, governing two towns, one township and six sub‑district offices, with a total population of 265,000 people. The planned area of the industrial park is 19.5 square kilometres, among which the built‑up area reaches 10.5 square kilometres. Chemical new materials serve as the core pillar industry of the development zone. It hosts more than 40 chemical enterprises producing 110 categories of chemical products, with operational capacity for 22 major products such as 330,000 tons of ethylene, 190,000 tons of propylene and 260,000 tons of polyethylene.
- High‑end Polyolefin Industrial Chain Represented by SINOPEC Zhongyuan Petrochemical Corp. Ltd, Wosen UHMWPE, Bluestar New Materials, Lianzhong Xingye and Hengfeng Electronics, this chain mainly produces polyethylene, ultra‑high molecular weight polyethylene, polypropylene and ultra‑pure polypropylene. SINOPEC Zhongyuan Petrochemical Corp. Ltd holds production capacities of 330,000 tons ethylene, 190,000 tons propylene, 260,000 tons polyethylene and 180,000 tons polypropylene (including 20,000 tons ultra‑pure polypropylene). Wosen UHMWPE owns an annual capacity of 40,000 tons of ultra‑high molecular weight polyethylene, ranking as China’s largest manufacturer with the most complete product grades for UHMWPE materials.

Main products cover electronic packaging materials, intermediates for optoelectronic materials, N‑methyl‑2‑pyrrolidone, isoprene latex, lithium‑ion battery separator materials, capacitor film materials, pyromellitic dianhydride and pharmaceutical intermediates. Puyang Huicheng Electronic Materials is China’s largest manufacturer with the broadest product portfolio of maleic anhydride derivatives, with existing annual capacity of 71,000 tons. Maiqi Chemical runs 100,000 tons per annum N‑methyl‑2‑pyrrolidone capacity supported by matching 100,000 tons per annum gamma‑butyrolactone units, whose products are widely applied in new‑energy, LCD panels, semiconductors and other sectors. Breaking overseas technical monopoly, Leibairui has realized domestic production of methylcyclohexanediamine and achieved import substitution for curing agents used in wind turbine blades.
